Concert by Piercarlo Sacco – violin, and Andrea Dieci – classical guitar
A concert violinist, Piercarlo Sacco was a pupil of Ivan Krivenski, Pavel Vernikov, Salvatore Accardo, Rocco Filippini, Bruno Giuranna, Alexander Lonquich , Klaus Schilde and the Trio of Trieste. He won the Perosi competitions in Biella, Vittorio Veneto, Mantua, Sandro Fuga in Turin, Accademia Filarmonica Romana and the Prix Special du Jury at the Deuxieme Concours International du Violon Yehudi Menuhin ( jury composed by Menuhin, Kremer, Spivakov and Bron). He toured the world collaborating with conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Georges Prêtre, Ton Koopman, Christopher Hogwood, Gennadij Rozdestvenskij, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos. Violinist and violist of the ensemble Sentieri Selvaggi. Composers such as Carlo Boccadoro, Giorgio Colombo Taccani, Mauro Montalbetti and Carlo Galante have dedicated their works to him. He has recorded for Brilliant Classics, Decca, Sony, Deutsche Grammophon. Lecturer in numerous masterclasses since 2016 is music director of the orchestra Gli Archi del Rusconi.
Andrea Dieci graduated with the highest marks, praise and special mention at the “Verdi” Conservatory in Milan in the class of Paolo Cherici. He studied with Oscar Ghiglia at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena and at the Musik-Akademie in Basel. He also participated in masterclasses held by Julian Bream. He won the 1st Prize at the International Competitions of Gargnano, Lagonegro and “De Bonis” of Cosenza and the Special Jury Prize at the Internationaler Musik-Wettbewerb of the ARD of Munich. He has performed in Europe, the United States, Central and South America, Asia and Africa. He has recorded for RAI, Vatican Radio, Radio Nacional Española, BBC, Radio Television Swiss Italian and Euroradio. He has recorded 14 Cds for various record labels, including monographs on Ponce, Jappelli, Piazzolla, Sor and Giuliani. He is also the only guitarist to have recorded the complete solo works of Villa-Lobos, Takemitsu and Henze. He was awarded twice (2005 and 2017) the “Golden Guitar” for the best guitar CD of the year at the International Guitar Convention in Alessandria. He has held masterclasses and seminars for renowned musical institutions in various countries of Europe, in the USA, in Mexico, Brazil, Singapore and Japan. He holds the chair of guitar at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “Vecchi-Tonelli” in Modena.
